Advocacy – Until all are SEEN and LOVED

Never give up.
MAKE THEM see you.
Never change who you are simply for “a pass” from others…

Just a few of the many things I will teach my son, day in and day out, until I’m blue in the face.

The thing about advocacy friends, is that it can be messy, and loud, and can be “in your face”.
But honestly, that is precisely how it should be.
How do you make someone hear you? You turn it up.

In NO world should the tears from outraged parents and caregivers be louder than the voices in “professional” positions to create change.
But here we are.

Too many stories of abuse, ridicule, and division have been shared from across the globe.
And even ONE story is too many.

In this life, I will continue to advocate for all those who’s voices are silenced.

For all those who are looked past, or pushed aside; Just like our sweet, autistic, nonverbal, BEAUTIFUL boy.

Until an end is put to the trauma, and shaming and the harm, to special needs individuals, just like my Beckett, we will NOT be silenced.
We will not sit with crossed fingers and hopes that no more children are taken advantage of.

Not in the schools, not in therapies, in communities, public spaces, or neighborhoods.
Period.

No matter your abilities, you are loved here.
No matter your title, you are loved here.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, all you have to do to have a space here is to BE KIND. ❤️
